We have been invited to our neighbours so has most of the street on Friday afternoon so my wife will push me round there in the wheelchair, but originally we were having a jubilee party down our holiday caravan in Kent but we haven’t be able to go down there at all this year due to my injury :bang:

Hoping to put some miles on the VFR on Thursday if the weather is ok, completely Victoria Sponge the BT023s before I get the Angel GTs fitted.

Other than that, building work. Got an extension to build, driveway to dig, workshop to build.

Erm.. working. Strange, the government and media seem to think the whole country has been gifted a four day holiday. They've given us one day,and moved another. What about the countless retail staff, emergency workers, maintainance crews, sewage workers, posties, etc. etc. who are all working Saturday as normal? I shall be taking great delight in knocking as loud as I can, as early as I can to rouse the hung-over online shoppers who started their binge on Wednesday afternoon.

I've done enough Christmas & New Year's working over the years to not feel guilty having a Bank holiday or two off. I'm off to Glossop on Thursday night and then Prestatyn for Friday & Saturday before a solo run home as my mate is heading over to Norfolk. Looking forward to getting on the bike again for a few days in a row. Pictures will no doubt surely follow...

Nothing really planned. Usual drinks with the lads on Friday afternoon, then the village has a bit of a celebration going on, on Sunday, might have a walk up to see if I can get into one of the pubs!!
Not sure what the roads will be like for the weekend, might be quiet if everyone stays local to celebrate but might not as well, so not sure we'll be out on the bike.
I do feel for you Rusty as I've been there and done all that over the years but now, in retirement, all the days of the year are holidays. I don't feel any guilt whatsoever either, having worked for 46 years (started at 16, finished at 62) I think I did my duty.  :thumb:

Quite right too, I'm about to start my 40th year at work in August and it's quite enough. I'm going to plod on for a few more years as I've got some very lucrative bonuses coming my way very soon....

I'm fine with working Saturday, my day off for this week was Monday. Not having a pop at anyone for not working either, especially you chaps who've done your time. You've definitely earned it. It was more a comment on the way the office-centric sector of the media seem to think nobody's doing a thing for four whole days straight.

Fair enough Rusty and I wasn't having a go at you. You make a fair comment, not everyone can stop working for one day, let alone four.
I shall have a beer in your & other workers honour on Friday!  :thumb:

This will be the first bank holiday I've not worked for the past 3 years (not to mention working flat out all through COVID with hardly any days off). The joys of working for a company that supplies generators to utility companies. That said, I'm on call from 6pm Sunday.

The Queen, Rusty Nuts and all our dedicated workers who keep the country running while the rest of us piss it up the wall. Thank you.  :thumb:
Rusty, this was Timothy Taylor's Knowle Spring. Very nice if you like your beers a little citrusy & hoppy.

Yes, tried it. Lighter than Landlord, good on sunny warm days.
