Yet another day with a delayed delivery, this time blocks to build the gable end. At least they've managed to get cracking leveling the drive ready to be re-laid at the new 'flat' level. A skip has arrived which compliments the green of the 20' storage container outside the front room... Sods law, the blocks arrived about 5 mins after the lads went home. I may get a new gable end tomorrow ?

I know it is frustrating waiting for supplies but at least they got on with levelling the drive and hopefully they will have a good day tomorrow building the gable end

Today's installment and It rained very heavily here today so the lads only got the scaffolding up and the (very) heavy lintel installed. It would have been nice to see more but apparently it was horrific weather so fair play to them. It's getting there...

In today's installment of the garage saga we have a new gable end ! This will be clad in due course (in white) so I'll need to get my finger out and pick a colour for the new garage door. Hmmm...

It looks like concrete will be flowing soon. The old garage door is down, the insulation layer is down, the Visqueen is down and it's ready to go ! I may have a floor by the end of the week ?

Er yes, but made slightly more exciting by the council planning department sending me a bit of a warning letter today to hurry up & finish or apply for retrospective planning permission for my shipping container, which they will reject. Thankfully, I do a lot of work with a freelance former senior planning engineer for Durham council so I'll find out how long I can put them off for. I would like to have it all nice & finished before I move back in but it may have to be a bit of a rush. Watch this space...

I have a floor ! Admittedly it's a bit wet at the moment, but it's down. Good news is I will be able to stall the council until well after Christmas if required so all going well at the moment.
