2007 DL 1000 V-Strom
« on: April 19, 2024, 04:24:17 PM »
It is with great sadness that I have to put my V-Strom up for sale ☹️
Due to my knee/leg injury I can no longer get on my beloved v-Strom.
I have owned this bike from new (57 reg) DL 1000 in black and Grey 26,000 miles.  I have added quite a few Extras over the years, which are all included in the sale. Heed engine bars, Lomo engine bar bags, Hagon rear shock, Hagon progressive front springs & heavier oil, Big pie Aux unit, Scorpion end cans with removable baffles, Oxford heated grips, Centre stand, Nice sports seat bought from a forum member, Front & Rear cameras ( little screen under the seat complete with Memory card ), TRE bought from a forum member,
Probably forgot some stuff 🤣.
Included in the sale are the Original pipes, the original rear shock ( only on the bike for a short while ), Original seat, oh and to fit the Heed bars on I had to remove the Crash bungs so they will be included with the sale.
I would like £2,600 for this bike I will post some pictures.
This bike is to be viewed in Chelmsford Essex.

It's looking sweet  :thumb: It will be an absolute gem for someone. Best of luck with the sale.

I agree, it's possible you could get a bit more but you probably just want it gone. I wouln't take a cheeky offer for it, far too good for that.

My Adventure rider mate was talking to a bloke at work about his up coming trip. The bloke said he would like to get a bike he could go touring on.

So today he came to have a look at my V-Strom. He was very impressed with the condition and the running of the bike. I said take it up the road for a ride. Which he did when he come back he said it is so different to what I am used to . (Bandit 1200 and current bike Honda CBF 1000 ) he said he is more than happy with the deal. BUT  he was not sure at the moment. He sent a couple of pictures to his wife and she replied that’s a lovely bike just buy it you will soon get used to it.
So his decision was to go and think about it and let me know later in the week.

Sounds promising. They are a bit 'lumpy' compared to 4 cylinder bikes, I transitioned from a Varadero 1000 so it wasn't as much of a culture shock when I got my first 'strom. I remember one day I was out with my mate on his new (to him) FJR1300 Yam' and we swapped bikes. He was gobsmacked that just rolling the throttle off was like using the back brake on the FJR! I found the opposite and throttling off made virtually no difference, it just kept gliding along. Smooth, but a bit bland if I'm honest - he didn't keep it long either as he just got bored with it.
