New bike today
« on: September 01, 2023, 09:11:22 PM »
Today is the first day of my new riding Adventure.
It started this morning with my mate Riding my KTM for me to the dealership to trade it in,  firstly it had to be Appraised in the workshop and the result of that was it had a Nail in the rear tyre ( must have picked that up on the ride there) so I had to pay £150 for a new tyre :dl_smiley_banghead:
The sales person sorted out all the paperwork for the new bike and I was given a Harley Davidson ruck sack to put everything in and went through all the settings etc.
just as my mate was getting ready to ride it back home for me the heavens opened and it Rained all the way home  :dl_smiley_banghead:
He had to take it easy anyway as being brand new it could not be revved over 3.5 thousand revs & new tyres.

The more I look, the more I like it. I really love the retro style cast wheels, they really set the bike off for me. Enjoy your bimble  :thumb:

I went for a little bimble this afternoon.
only rode round the block a few times just to get used to the bike and pulling out at junctions including a couple of hill starts.
The bike is feeling good just so different to anything I have ridden and used to.
But at least I am back out riding 😃
I just need to Adjust both the clutch and front brake levers down a bit and maybe pull the handlebars back a touch.
I have ordered a tank protector because as you can see my fat guts are on the tank 🤣🤣
It was only 15 miles but I enjoyed getting out again.

I went out again this afternoon after adjusting both the clutch & brake lever down a touch.
I Rode a few local country lanes and some A roads along with some busy junctions, I am getting more confident on the bike now.
I did about 60 miles today including a fuel stop after 107 miles the fuel light came on so pulled in for fuel, the petrol tank is under the seat It only took £11.77 to fill up 🤣
The petrol tank is actually where the Air filter is and the round thing in between the cylinders is actually just fake.
I am liking this bike The more I ride it, it has done 121 miles now and the first service is 1000 miles so I will see if I can do some more miles why the weather is still ok.

Fingers crossed for some half decent weather and you might just get it run in before the salt goes on the roads. We have a chap locally who rides his Electra Glide Ultra Classic all year, and it still looks great despite several winters worth of use.
