Got the most asinine response from my GP today...

I had a ECG just to check things and had a phone call back this morning.

She said all was fine, BP is also ok. But this was at rest.

She asked me how I knew my HR was high. I said I have a smart watch that monitors pulse as well as being able to feel my heart pounding and also checking it manually my self.

She just said, Stop using the watch to monitor my pulse and ignore it as they are "Unreliable" .

Ok, So, what, Im supposed to just ignore my heart pounding in my chest, Jump on the treadmill or bike and just Éclairing yolo it?

So there we go. My GP has said to ignore it and just do my excersise.... great advice.

Wow! I thought I was unfit and pushing my luck. My HR only gets to 160 on the treadmill at the gym. I'll count myself lucky for now. Hope it's nothing that casn't be sorted  :thumb:

Not ideal... GP's seem to be to busy to give an FCUK these days? Keep monitoring things, we haave an Omron BP machine which is to NHS spec' and is very accurate. I use it a lot just to keep an eye on things. My wife picked up up while she was still a Pharmacist, but they are not cheap. As it's NHS spec' I find GP's do take notice of my recordings, especially when I mention they were taken under the supervision of a Pharmacist. But - it shouldn't have to be like that.

It might be worth considering a different GP practice if thats an option?

Good luck switching GP. I've been lucky to find a small family run practise about 1/2 a mile from home. I only got taken on because dad has been a "customer" there since the 1950's and mom from the mid-60's. They're not actually accepting anyone.

If you can find a smaller practise rather than a large one, you'll be much better off.
