Cheers for the link, great website. I noticed the commentators mentioned one of the Edinburgh lads was racing today (B/H Monday) for a team and the later on for another ! These folks must do loads of miles between events.

You are welcome 👍 yes you will find a lot of riders ride in both leagues (premiership & championship) and they ride most nights of the week all over the country and if someone is out injured the Teams get a guest rider in ( as Newcastle did yesterday with Chris Harris), a lot of the top riders ride in Poland on a Sunday & in Sweden & Denmark mid week ( but there league clubs take priority over the foreign leagues) we will be keeping an eye on the Peterborough - Kings Lynn meeting tonight. Peterborough were league champions last season. because of the age of the team they had the nickname “Dads Army” Scott for example will be 44 in may!!

He had a shoulder operation over the winter, he has only done 4 meetings so far this year, if you get time have a look at the portal it starts at 5 👍

I had a cracking run out in the borders today with my mate Davey on his rocket ship of a K1200GT BMW. We went on some really obscure, little used roads up by Roadhead and ended up covering 170 miles. Loads of tea, loads of banter and some decent weather, grand day out.

I've also got the Tigger booked in for it's replacement rear shocker on Friday the 13th of May, what could possibly go wrong with that...

I don't believe in all this superstition stuff...... although I refuse to walk under a black cat!!

I have to confess to not being superstitious either, although I do try not to walk under ladders as I know how easy (and often) things fall off them !

I worked for BT for best part of 40 years and a good few of those involved climbing ladders & poles. Before Health & Safety became a thing we would work with all sorts of tools up them. Quite a few got dropped......I was lucky, I managed not to hit anyone or damage anything. 
I think you worked in similar circumstances?

Yes, I did 20 years as an overhead linesman for 'Geordie Juice' before getting clever... Many, many stories to tell. But, pictures speak a thousand words so here is me in various overhead locations. The towers were at Seaton Delaval and Bebside, both very close to where I live now. Not very good quality as they are pictures of pictures but I'm the chump in mid-air launched from the tower in picture 1. Picture 3 was at Bebside where we converted a 66kV tower to run at 20kV to save building a new overhead line. We were just about to drag a very heavy steel wire armoured cable up the tower with the landrover winch. Happy days !
