Today I dropped my tigger seat off with Les at Saddlecraft (https://www.saddlecraft.co.uk/) to have a gel pad fitted. I was genuinely horrified when Les showed me how little padding there was on the stock Triumph seat. Holding it you can easily press down to the plastic base in places and when you look it's only about an 1" of foam in places ! No wonder it starts to get a bit uncomfortable after a hundred miles or so... It's a 6/700 mile a day bike with a 3/400 mile a day seat. I'm confident the gel pad will sort out the comfort or at the very least improve it immensely. Interestingly, Les showed me what makes a Triumph 'comfort' seat - it's a 3" x 6" strip of 1/4" gel in a fabric holder stuffed under the stock seat foam. What a waste of money and what a rip off Triumph.

I got my first ride of the year out of the way, a steady 76 miles up the coast, across through Alnwick to Rothbury and then home. I stopped of at Rothbury for a cuppa and a bit chinwag with some total strangers, the beauty of being on a bike. It was great to be back out again, picture of the Tigger parked at Rothbury. Mind you, it took a bit of cleaning when I got back home...

Glad you got out for a ride today and how did the seat feel with the gel pad you had fitted ?

Your tigger is a lovely looking bike NorthunBryan  :thumb:

Cheers  :thumb: I'm running my 'winter' seat at the moment, I picked up a genuine heated seat off eBay for peanuts last year which was a blessing today I can tell you. Quite eager to try the new seat but it'll be a few weeks yet as Les is stowed off with work.

Oh right sorry I obviously didn’t read the Ist post properly  lol

I saw lots of bikes out today as it has been sunny here all day, but still very cold and there was a quite hard frost this morning and the gritters were out last night so lots of the dreaded salt about  :crying:

We also had the gritters out last night and my car resembles an ice lolly, even the bird bath is frozen solid. It's glorious sunshine today so I might press gang the Mrs into a walk down to the river Wansbeck & back.

I was showing my mate around my refurbished garage last night and he wanted to hear the Tigger fire up. I popped back in the house to get the keys, fired it up and bugger me the message '30 days until your next service' appeared as if by magic on the TFT dash. So, I've booked it in for it's first annual service on Saturday the 9th of April. If the weather holds I might get a few more miles on before then.

If correct, the weather forecast for here, in Derbyshire, looks to be OK next week so hoping to get out for more than a quick 10/20 miles. Plus a full English cooked by someone other than me!!!  :thumb:

Finally managed to get out today. A gentle 90(ish) miles in excellent weather. Mostly hazy sunshine & temps around 15*!!
No full breakfast but managed a sausage & egg COB at The Yonderman, followed by a nice piece of flapjack. Great to be out for a few hours.

That’s brilliant glad you managed to get out, sometimes you don’t need a full breakfast 🍳 but the sausage & egg cob followed by flapjack sounded lovely  :thumb:

Myself & Morpethmatt had a cracking run out today. We had a bit of a coast & castle theme going on heading North up the Northumberland coast to Bamburgh before cutting inland to Wooler for a cuppa and a scone. From there we headed up to Scotland through Kirk Yetholm and on to Jedburgh and then back down through Otterburn on the A68 and then back to Morpeth. It was around 150 miles in bright sunshine but a bit bracing at times. Pics are of Warkworth Castle, Bamburgh Castle and the border at Carter Bar.

Very nice. The wife & myself did enjoy our week up in that area.  :thumb:
Hopefully out for a little run again tomorrow.
