Interestingly, my mate is due a set of tyres and was thinking of going from PR4's to the newer PR5's. Any experience of the PR4's as a comparison to your PR5's ?

I'm needing a new pair for the V-Strom, had BT023's on as the last pair but the rear has worn at 6k miles (not bad? but was getting 8 - 10k miles out of the last 3 pairs of Anakee 3's with some tread left...just changed a couple of pairs because we were doing a 3/4k tour).
I was looking to go back to Anakee 3's but they seem to be in short supply (rear) or silly money. I saw your post and 'my man' can get Bridgestone A41's and fit them (ride in & out) for £261. I thought that was a reasonable price looking around at tyre only prices.
Interesting that you think they handle well.
I might take a punt & see how they go for me.

@NorthumBryan I had PR4s before the PR5s and they were a brilliant pair of tyres I did quite a lot of track days on the v-Strom using the PR4s and they performed really well in fact they out performed me  lol

When it was time to replace them I actually went to buy another set of PR4s but they wasn’t available so went for the PR5s and apart from what I have already said about the first few miles they have been awesome I hope this helps your friend.

Nice one. it's difficult to change from tyres you 'know' to tyres you don't yet 'know' and it's an expensive mistake if you pick something that you just don't gel with. I think he'll probably go for the PR5's over his beloved PR4's which he's had on last three or four bikes.

Mick, take a punt on the A41's, you won't be disappointed and that's a solid price for ride in/ride out. Mine were £230 fitted but to loose wheels, not an issue at the rear of the Tigger as it's a single sided swing arm but the front took a bit more work and a slightly shonky jack...

£230 was good!
The best I could find for just the tyres was £237 but he would have charged £50 to fit both, (ride in/out) so he must get them at a decent price from his supplier.
First time I've used this chap so hoping he's OK.
Should be early next week.  :thumb:

This is where I got my tyres from which is about 200 yds from my house. Convenient does not begin to describe it ! To be fair, he doesn't do ride in/ride out (like a lot of the more 'car' based tyre places) but he does a lot of motocross tyres so knows how to go on. He nursed my rim beautifully, mrs...

Had the A 41's fitted this morning. If it stays dry I might nip out and start the scrubbing in process.  :thumb:

Managed to get out and did just short of 100 miles this afternoon. The tyres felt very good after about 50 miles but not sure if it was the tyres or the new shock absorber (fitted last week) or a bit of both. However I think I'm going to be pleased with them.  :thumb:

Nice to get the tyres scrubbed in, mine were spot on by 100 miles. Still very happy with them and I hope you 'gel' with your set  :thumb:

This is my 68 plate Versys 1000. Bought a few weeks ago. It came to me with 1500 miles on the clock and three Main Dealer Services  :hahaha: It was completely standard.

Anyway, let the modifications begin;

1. I sold a Kidney to buy the Kawasaki Top Box, this has a superb feature, if you take the key out and the lid closes, it is now locked and you better hope your key wasn't inside

2. Sat Nav Mount

3. Radiator Guard

4. Side Stand Foot

5. Bigpie Fusebox

6. Givi Airflow

Still to fit. Auxiliary lights & End Can.
