Took it out of the garage , where it's sat for a couple of weeks, and gave it a quick check over. Tyres pressure, brakes, coolant, chain etc, oil was changed 500 miles back & level OK, as we're off to Scotland on Sunday for the week.
Staying in Pitlochry and only got three full days so will be spending it riding around the east side between Inverness, Perth & Aberdeen.
Just hoping the weather holds.....not fussed about the sun not shining but could do without any rain!!!  :thumb:
oops, sorry it's Scotland forget that last bit! lol
Hope to have a few photos to post on our return.

Today I had a very off-beat trundle through some very obscure single track roads in Northumberland and Cumbria. We stopped off at Alston for a cuppa and a bite to eat at Hickins' cafe which is part of the station building at the South Tynedale heritage railway. It's a great place to stop off and not usually as busy as the other cafe's in the town. From there we headed up over Hartside and then on to Gretna Green before coming back along Hadrian's Wall. A grand day out and I covered 200 miles, thoroughly testing out my new gel-padded seat which gets a big thumbs up from me.

Pic at the station with Morpethmatt mooching about in the background.

Cheers  :thumb: It's seat number 4 I've had done at Saddle Craft and they always do a cracking job whether it's a simple gel pad or a re-foam, gel pad & re-cover it always comes out looking great. Just in time for my Wales trip next weekend.

Great week in Scotland although we did get a little damp on occasions......sorry I'll correct that, we got piss wet through every day!!  lol
Yesterday was the first day without rain & we stayed dry all the way home.
We stopped in Longtown, just up the road from Gretna Green, for B&B yesterday. We got there a bit early so after checking in we decided to have a ride out, doing another 100 plus miles to get this photo.  :thumb:
In Scotland you have to leave the Highlands to visit the highest village in Scotland, because it's in the Lowlands?  :wtf:

I started a (possibly overdue) service on the 100cc Quad that is raced at the August meet at Bikers Campsite.

I'm sure it could be worse. One of my friends changed the oil on his very old & very tired Iveco van recently and found several bits of piston ring trapped in the oil filter. It's still going, just not very well...

I'm astonished that little Quad is still running, although, it is a bit like Triggers broom, it has had more replaced parts over the years than I care to remember  :fix:

Tonight saw the luggage affixed to the Tigger ready to head off for Glossop tomorrow. The plan is to head over the moors to Middleton-in-Teesdale, over to Brough, down to Devils Bridge and then on to Glossop with numerous stops for tea & cake along the way. Friday sees us heading to Prestatyn via, weather permitting, Lake Vyrnwy for the run out. Saturday is free so probably a loop around Snowdonia or if it's wet a day on the lash... Sunday and it's trundle home and then back to work on Monday as if it had never happened.

On a work front we have submitted our formal tender to National Grid to participate in Pathfinder 3 (artificial inertia & grid stability) which is two chapters longer than War & Peace... We now have a couple of months peace before we find out if we've been successful. Then if we are it's panic stations as we recruit staff and build a £30,000,000 synchronous condenser !
