Blustery...
« on: February 16, 2022, 04:09:14 PM »
Is it just me or are we having the longest, prolonged windy period anyone can remember ? Yet another named storm with a second hot on it's heels. It's wild in Northumberland and the Port of Blyth is rather busy with a vast number of vessels taking shelter from the imminent storm. I hate the wind me, worse than snow & ice. Grumble. whinge, mither, complain etc...

I agree it’s been so f***ing windy of late and it’s only going to get worse with storm Eunice on its way  :wtf:

I have been having trouble with the curtains when unloading and loading the lorry’s at work already so not looking forward to Friday ( bloody dangerous)

Agreed, those big curtain sides could do you a proper injury and no mistake. The local TV had an image of an HGV on it's side on the way up to Otterburn last night, luckily the driver got out OK with only minor damage to their underwear. This may just be the warm up act too. Be safe out there  :thumb:

We must be lucky here in Derby, yes, a bit breezy & had to put a few bricks on the tarpaulin covering the garden furniture but up to now (19.40) hardly worth a mention. Just the usual weather for a winters day.

We were in Harrogate for the wifes birthday and it belted down with snow on Saturday afternoon. Very wet on the way home with loads of minor flooding everywhere.

Happy belated birthday to your wife  :)))
Most of our village and the surrounding villages  has been without power since midday friday but we were one of the lucky ones and only lost our power for a few hours.
Lots of fallen trees that took down the power lines and blocked the roads.

I think we seem to have got away with it again here. Very strong wind & lots of rain Sunday night & into yesterday but the only damage to our property was a very wet carpet in the garage!!  :smirk: The wind was blowing straight a the door and blew the water under it wetting a couple of yards of it!
PS, happy birthday Mrs. NorthumBryan.  :thumb:

I think we missed the worst here although there seems to be a lot of red warnings for flooding around the rest of the country. Must be so frustrating having to watch your property flood when there is quite literally nothing you can do about it. Poor sods...

P.S. The Mrs says Ta very much for the birthday wishes  :thumb:
