A bit 'Mork & Mindy'
« on: November 27, 2021, 10:19:35 AM »
It was a bit breezy in Northumberland last night to say the least. Northern Powergrid have 55,000 customers without wigglies and we went off 6 times but only for a couple of seconds (there's a pole mounted auto recloser on my HV feeder). This is just long enough to bugger up all the clocks, cock up the computer and set the house burglar alarm off - deep joy !

Pictures of some of the carnage from Blyth, courtesy of my mate Davey -

Looks a bit rough! Must have been lucky here in the midlands, nothing......
Sorry, 20 minutes of snow around 08.00, grandkids football called off (that's three matches we didn't have to watch this morning  :smirk:) but that's it.  :thumb:

Got up this morning to an inch of snow in the garden. I've also just seen two Electricity North West Unimogs drive past, Northern Powergrid must have requested help as they have loads still off supply. It seems virtually every tree that fell has hit a powerline ! My mate sent me a picture last night of a bit of sheet roofing wrapped around the top of a 20kV pole. It'll be days before they get everyone back on.
