They are known for crap HT leads/caps and shorting the to the head in the rain.

Mine was a pita for it, I live in Wales - how often do you think I rode it in the dry?  lol

10k - the original plug should be fine for a fair bit more mileage than that, unless there was an underlying issue meaning replacement was needed.

It's apparently a know issue with the YBR125.

I found out the same was a you on a brand new 09 plate Custom on my way to work in the rain.

I can also confirm when you get your finger between the shorting plug cap and the head your little pinkie will go numb for an hour!

I had the same issue with the YBR125 Custom I had in 2009.
Luckily it had a kick start which I know the later models of the YBR didn't get.

The spark was shorting to the cylinder head from the HT lead, try some WD40 on the in/on the plug cap and along the HT lead.

I did this and had no further issues in the rain.

Both nice examples of the models.

SWMBO said no, then I got got a smack to my response to the question "where will you put either of them?"

apparently "Where your bike is parked" was not an acceptable answer  :crying:

It'll likely be used with the stolen scooter they have at home.

Round these parts you just don't leave anything unattended for more than 30 seconds if you wish to keep possession of it.

When I cut the front lawn or use the pressure washer on the drive/car/bike I run any cables/hoseand bring out the wash bucket ect before I bring the expensive items.

I do believe we have booked one of the cabins, SWMBO has just asked what have we booked for next year, as in 2024. lol

in the dealers we sold a bike to a bloke in central London who had a 98 CB500 nicked- his insurance stated his new bike would have to be alarmed, immobilised, GPS tracked, data tagged, 12mm Thatcham Gold chain, lock & ground anchored at the rear, disk locked up front or they wouldn't cover him.

The new bike was a 2 year old CB500X worth £5500, the extras totalled £3k (with 1year tracker subscription) annd his insurance was £3k a year...

I said move somewhere else!
or buy a Gun?
