Title: Wide load
Post by: Prydeannie on April 30, 2021, 12:20:37 PM
After waiting a month on delivery from Italy, I have just received my new Givi panniers to go with my rather large top box. I don’t think I’ll be doing much filtering while they are on but I could help you to move house.

How wide is it from outside edge to outside edge?
Mine's 114cm (close to 45" in real money). My take on the width is I only use them when touring & when I'm touring I do my best, & usually manage, to avoid any busy towns where I may get stuck in traffic.
I have often been caught in hold ups on motorways & dual carriageways but most of the time I'm able to keep moving at a steady pace between the traffic.

It probably took them a month to mine the bauxite for that lot!
As Mick says, if touring you're either on quieter roads or on the motorway to get "there" wherever it is, rather than threading through city traffic. And you're not in so much of a rush as when commuting and filtering.

Interesting, I have the Triumph 'factory' luggage by Givi and it's symmetrical. The left hand side bracket definitely sticks out further so it matches the exhaust side. This means I 'only' have two 37L cases. I could do with a bigger topbox mind, the 42L one has room for a helmet and that's about it...

The camera angle makes the top box look huge but it really isn't -
