Title: Bikerscampsite is a Registered Trade Mark
Post by: Fat Rat on October 16, 2021, 02:47:24 PM
Bikerscampsite is now a registered Trade Mark   (not that it will interest anyone but me).

If I ever see 'bikerscampsite' used incorrectly I shall be happy to let you know. Just out of interest is it much of an ordeal to register a trademark ?

It's straightforward, it just takes a few months.

Registering Bikerscampsite wasn't so much to stop others using it, it was more to protect ourselves. If someone else registered it, they could potentially stop us from trading using it.

I learnt the lesson back in the nineties, I had a couple of shops building Computers under the name Datawise Components Ltd. I owned the domain/website datawise.co.uk and the  business had been running for around a year when I received a call from the owner of the Trade Mark 'Datawise'.

I tried to fight it but in the end was forced to change the company name.

Interesting and a very shrewd move. My company has to rebrand by the end of February as the name Narec is owned by Catapult (UK government set up which used to be calle NaREC) and they want it back. Annoyingly, they aren't going to use it but they are killing it off as we get way more website traffic than them...
